How the job runs

Enquiry to handover, without the mystery week.

Six stages. If a stage is skipped, the install is guessing. We would rather take longer on design than apologise in February.

1. Enquiry

The survey form collects name, postcode, phone, email, current fuel, off-gas yes/no, bedrooms, radiator age, outdoor space, EPC if you have one, and notes. That is enough to know whether a visit is worthwhile and whether BUS rules are even in play.

The form sends the enquiry to us. You also get a plain-text summary to keep.

2. Survey

On site: room dimensions and fabric, radiator types and sizes, pipe routes, cylinder cupboard, loft hatch, consumer unit, outdoor positions, neighbouring windows, listing/conservation clues. Photographs for the design file. We are measuring, not pitching.

3. Design

Room-by-room heat loss, flow temperature, emitter schedule, cylinder, outdoor unit siting and noise notes, electrical notes. You should be able to see which radiators we propose to change and why.

4. Quote

A priced system against that design. BUS shown as a line discount: £7,500, or £9,000 if you are off-gas replacing oil or LPG. Optional extras (extra rads, acoustic screen, board upgrade) are itemised rather than buried.

5. Install

We install the outdoor unit, pipework, cylinder, emitter changes, electrics and controls, then fill, cleanse and commission. Access and parking need to be real on a Stockport terrace; we will ask. Duration depends on the emitter list, not on a generic “two-day install” slogan.

6. Handover

How the heating curve works, hot water set-up, what a defrost looks like, what to do if a room is cold, when to call. Paperwork follows the install.
